Show Google Calendar on your start page

Google Calendar gives every calendar a private feed address. A start page can read that feed and list what's coming up, without signing in to your Google account.

  1. On a computer, open Google Calendar and click ⚙ Settings at the top right, then Settings.
  2. On the left, under Settings for my calendars, click the calendar you want.
  3. Scroll to Integrate calendar and copy the Secret address in iCal format. It ends in .ics.
  4. In Daft Deck, open Settings, paste the address under Google Calendar, and click Done.
  5. Add the Calendar box from the Boxes drawer if it isn't on your deck yet.

The box shows the next two weeks and updates on its own. To show more than one calendar, paste one address per line.

Keep the address private

Anyone with the secret address can see the events on that calendar. Don't post it or send it to anyone. If it gets out, go back to Integrate calendar and click Reset next to the secret address. The old one stops working, and you paste the new one in Settings.

If the box says it couldn't load your calendar

Check that you copied the Secret address in iCal format, not the public address or the embed code. A work or school account may hide the secret address; your administrator decides whether it's available.

Shared and other calendars

Google only shows the secret address to people who can manage a calendar. For a calendar someone shared with you, ask the owner to give you Make changes and manage sharing, or to send you the address themselves.
