Keep your word of the year where you'll see it
A word of the year works when you keep running into it. Daft Deck puts it on the page you open all day, next to a word for the month, your intentions and a guiding principle.
Start your deck
Four boxes for it
- Word of the year. One word, in big type.
- Word for the month. It switches on the first of the month, and last month's word is kept.
- Intentions. A few statements for the year you can tick off.
- Words by year. Every year's word and the months under it, plus a spot for next year's word when you're ready.

A guiding principle
If a word is too short, there's a box for one sentence you want to live by. It sits across the top of the deck.

Why on a start page
A word in a journal gets seen when you open the journal. A word on your start page gets seen every time you open a tab, which for most people is dozens of times a day.
Questions
Can I change my word partway through the year?
Yes. Click the word and type a new one. The box keeps one word per year, so the old one is replaced.
Is it free?
Yes. Every box is free, including all four word and intention boxes.
Can I see it on my phone?
Yes. On iPhone the boxes are on the Board screen, and the Home Screen widget can show your word for the year.
